New Deputy Premier Paul Toole vows to 'fight for what's important' in regional areas

 The new NSW Nationals leader and state's Deputy Premier, Paul Toole, says he will join Premier Dominic Perrottet on a tour of regional communities within weeks.

The member for Bathurst and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads has served as the National's deputy leader for three years.

This morning, Mr Toole defeated Water Minister and member for Oxley Melinda Pavey in a secret ballot at NSW Parliament to win the leadership and replace John Barilaro.
